Positioning of brasato and the direction it will develop to.
Current
The current release of the Brasatoframework is 1.0. And its architecture is positioned as follows:

Near future
Brasato's goal is to improve it continuously while keeping the interfaces stable and to add a lot of reusable services to it. The first contributions will come out of OLAT and are therefore e-learning or collaborative services such as:
- Forum
- Wiki
- Group management
- Content Packaging
- SCORM Player
- Jabber Chat
Roadmap
- Small improvements (ongoing)
- better handling of the back button in web 2.0 mode (iframe issues)
- improved documentation of the core classes
- more tutorials and real-life examples
- Support intelligent distribution of poll / push(hanging get) requests for optimization of server load / client responsiveness
- Widen tested and supported browser to more than Firefox and IE 6/7
- Support for asynchronous updates also for screenreaders
- Moving more and more reusable GUI services from the OLAT project to Brasato (ongoing)
- Integration of JSF Facelets to leverage existing components (tbd)
- Integration of OSGI for more advanced service deployment (tbd)
- Integration of JSR 168 Portlets through an automatic controller wrapper
